One brother for sale!
One brother for sale!
One hard-headed, hair-cutting brother for sale!
I’m really not kidding,
So who’ll start the bidding?
Do I hear the dollar?
A nickel?
A penny?
Oh, isn’t there, isn’t there, isn’t there any
One kid that will buy this old brother for sale,
This hard-headed, hair-cutting young brother for sale?
This modified little poem by Shel Silverstein popped into my head today when Eli casually informed me that he had gotten a red ticket for cutting another little boy's hair at school today. Ironically enough, we were in the car driving to have his hair cut. (I resisted the urge to have our hairdresser shave a large H on the back of his head and dye it red.)
It made me wonder (again) exactly why Brad and I thought this whole "parenting" thing would be fun.
I'm still wondering what the proper punishment for said crime should be. So far I haven't come up with anything constructive since shaving his eyebrows or burying him in a hole in the backyard up to his chin are probably not the best ideas.
You might check the backyard tonight, though...just in case.

Having just experienced this on the other end, I plead the 5th. At least it was another boy's hair! Good luck with that:)
Jordan,
I LOVE your blog! Never a dull moment around the McCall house and the way your write these memories down is priceless! So, what did you decide to do for punishment?
Miss you friend!
I breathed a sigh of relief that he had not cut Pheobe's hair again. (Don't tell that to the mom whose child's hair was cut). At least Eli is not short on creativity!
