The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It really is the most wonderful time of the year. I'm not talking about the cool crispness that is (finally) in the air or the wonderful fall dishes that I am suddenly craving or all the exciting prep for the holidays or the snuggling up under the covers with a really good book...even though I do love all of those things. I'm talking about the arrival of the holiday Coffee Mate creamers at the grocery store. Pumpkin Spice, Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread...YUM. (I'm not a huge fan of the Eggnog.) I love Starbucks as much as the next girl, but there is just something about pouring your own steaming mug of coffee and adding those delicious flavors without having to change out of your pajamas and get into a cold car. It was a glorious day when I spotted those creamers in the "special" middle aisle at Wal-Mart. You know, the place they reserve for all things seasonal that you just cannot live without. (I think they do that so you'll walk around the store for twenty minutes looking for what you need because it is not in the logical place with all the other creamers...I'm not a huge fan of Wally World.) Sometimes you just have to sit back and appreciate the small things that make life great. Like holiday coffee creamers.

Here are a few pictures for those of you who only check my blog to see my children. We wouldn't want a grandparent revolt or anything.

Eli and Phoebe "playing" cars.

Hey there,
I have discovered that the little things are the ones that make us happy. This is my favorite time of the year because of the times with my kids, funny little jokes, cute pictures, warm coffee, biscuits and gravy, laughing at the bizarre view of the world as seen through Eli's eyes, banter with your mother, the way you and Carrie still come sit in my lap and block my view of the TV, Ben calling every once in while and asking my advice (which makes my day), all the little things that makes up the fabric of our lives, woven together with laughter, tears, prayers, and a jillion little moments. You are right, these things make us who we are.
Love you,
See you soon
Dad

I can just see you getting excited at WalMart and Eli getting excited too just because you are! I am with the whole coffee creamer thing but I agree with the anticipation of this season! I love it! I can't wait until Homecoming!
I love Phoebe's facial expression in the first pic. She is thinking "Why is he wasting his time on these little things?" and I can hear eli explaining every little detail of the car to Phoebe including sound effects!

Love you all!
Aunt Carrie

P.S. You will be thrilled to see what I bought for Eli's Halloween package!

I am with you girl. Coffee creamer is important - but have you ever had mint cocoa? It's my absolute FAVORITE holiday drink, with less caffeine.

Can I also mention that I love how Eli is still in his pjs and Phoebe is fully decked out with bow and shoes! HAHA was it a "home day" for Eli? At least he was minus the red vest and cowbot boots!

Why does every picture of Phoebe make me want to drive to your house and steal her? She's amazingly cute. I will have to take your word on the creamers since I don't drink coffee, but as you and your dad so eloquently reminded me, it truly is the little things that make life special. Hoping those little things keep finding their way to your heart.

You don't know me. I stumbled upon your blog through Kristen's blog. And I just have to say......that your beautiful little girl has the most amazing expressions in all of her photos! She is just SO precious!

I've lurked on your blog as well but had to comment on this one. I have to agree with the creamers. Just a quick tip- towards the end of the season, when I know they will stop making those delicious flavors you just mentioned= I will load up on them and pour them into ice cube trays. I freeze them and then dump them into freezer safe gallon baggies (sorted by flavor) Then I have them after they are no longer available. You just put a cube into your cup and pour the coffee on top. Very easy!! Your kids are precious and our family prays for you and your health!

Hi Jordan!!
I have to agree...the pumpkin flavor rocks my world!! I saw them the other day and loaded up, too! And you are so correct, they are NOT with the other creamers, this is such a shame, too. I feel as though more people would be into them if they had a clue where to find them!
I had to comment because our Sunday school class was all abuzz on Sunday about the arrival of the holiday creamers. This is too fun, I am glad I am not the only one who gets crazy happy about these!
CUTE pics! Are you going to homecoming?

This is my fave time of year too! I do have to say that the eggnog latte at Starbucks is one of my favorite treats but the creamers are good too. (Flannel pj's with good coffee). Love your blog and the pics are precious. How do you get Phoebe to leave a bow in her hair?! Please have her teach my girls! LOL. -Jen (another lurker)
